Domain Registration
Domain
name - The unique name that identifies an Internet website. Domain
names are used in URL's (web addresses) to identify Web pages. For example,
in the URL http://www.wmpnet.com/index.htm, the domain name is wmpnet.com..
Domain Registration - There is a central registry of all domain names on the Internet. For your domain name to become a part of the registry, your domain name needs to be added to that registry. "Registering" a domain name means you are associated with that domain name for the period of the registration. Only ICANN-approved Registrars have access to the database. "Registering" a name means you own it, and no one else can register that exact same name!
